EXPERIENCE
For 30+ years, I served as a clinical speech-language pathologist (SLP) with the Ottawa Catholic School Board. I have assessed close to 2000 students over my career, identifying their strengths and needs and educating their families and educators on the best ways to support them. I have supported students with individualized programs in the regular classroom and through small group therapy in the Board's specialized Primary Language Classes. My extensive knowledge of the Ontario school system and curriculum allows me to work with children on the skills they will need for both academic and social success in school.
In addition to my clinical duties, I helped develop learning resources for educators, delivered guest lectures to teachers-in-training at Ottawa U, and acted as Clinical Supervisor for graduate students in Speech-Language Pathology during their clinical placements. I have attended many workshops and professional development courses over my career, in the areas of language development, literacy, AAC and autism.

Outside of my role as a school SLP, I served as a medical volunteer with Operation Smile from 2009 to 2018. As the SLP on missions in Rwanda, Kenya, China, Nicaragua and Mexico, I worked with children with cleft lip and palate and their families to support them pre- and post-surgery. I am also Mom to two young adult sons and enjoy travelling, reading, and music.
